Aviv Dance Studios Policy

Welcome to Aviv Dance Studios.

Our teachers are always available to answer any questions before or after class, or an appointment can be made through our office for more private or lengthy conversations. We are very proud of the high standards we achieve in dance, and so 100% effort and enthusiasm from students is encouraged and expected during classes.

We would appreciate your attention to the following information and school policies.

Monday 4.00 – 8.00pm
Tuesday 4.30 – 8.30pm

Thursday 4.45 – 8.00pm

Tuition Fees

Half-termly invoices are sent out via email prior to the start of each new half term. A half term can range from 5 to 8 weeks in length.

Fees must be paid online in full by the end of the first week of the half term. Please note that we do not accept cheques or cash.

We offer a 10% discount for siblings and cheaper rates for students who take 3 or more classes per week.

Refunds

We cannot give refunds. This applies to missed classes due to illness and holidays, and class cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances e.g. heavy snow fall.

Notification of your child’s absence

It is very important that you let us know when your child is unable to make a class and why. We must also be informed when your child has suffered an injury or illness that may affect their dancing. THIS IS FOR YOUR CHILD’S OWN SAFETY. Unfortunately, my staff and I waste a lot of time trying to contact parents due to unexplained absences. Please note that a parent/carer or guardian must notify us of any absence in advance by calling 01923 250000. If calling before our office opens, or if we cannot answer the phone, please leave a message.

Our texting service – 07817672000

We have a mobile phone for sending and receiving texts. You may prefer to use this service to let us know that your child will be absent. If so, please make sure the text includes the child’s full name, the class they attend and the reason for their absence. Please do not ask your child to write and send the text. The mobile number is 07817672000 and should NOT be used for making calls. Any calls made to this number will not be answered. Phone calls must still be made to the office on 01923 250000.

Like our Aviv Dance Studios Facebook page and follow us on Instagram

This is the easiest and most efficient way for you and/or your child to receive the latest news, general info or class cancellations (very rare).

Leaving Policy

If you need to withdraw your child from the school, we will need a letter or email notifying us that this is the case before the start of the new half term. If this notice is not given, then fees for the next half term must be paid.

Annual School Shows

All students (except our Tots) are given the opportunity to perform in our Annual Show. It takes place at the Radlett Centre over three days and is always the highlight of the year by giving students a fantastic learning experience in a professional environment. You may be relieved to hear that at Aviv we do not ask for much parent involvement with costumes! We only ask for a small fee to hire your child’s costume from us and any alterations are completed free of charge by our seamstress.

Clothing

Street Dance requires tracksuit bottoms or leggings, a fitted vest top or t-shirt and clean indoor trainers.

Contemporary requires the same, without shoes.

Tap requires the same clothing and black Tap shoes (please discuss with the teacher directly for further advice).

Ballet requires a leotard (check colour with teacher), tights for girls, black tights or shorts for boys and Ballet shoes. Leotards and shoes need to be purchased from a dancewear supplier (please discuss with the teacher directly for further advice).

Photograph Consent

Occasionally, photographs are taken for promotional material and parental permission needs to be granted when registering with Aviv. Please note that our Annual Shows are filmed and photographed.

Student Behaviour

We are very proud of the high standards we achieve in dance, and so 100% effort and enthusiasm from students is encouraged and expected during classes. Students are also expected to show respect for the teachers, staff, other students and facilities at Aviv. If a student’s behaviour towards our teachers, staff or their fellow students is not deemed to be acceptable, we reserve the right to remove the student from the class temporarily or, in very extreme cases, permanently.

Refer a Friend Terms and Conditions

  1. Offer applies to new referred students only.
  2. Offer can be withdrawn or changed at any time.
  3. A “full paying student” refers to a new student who has signed up and paid for the rest of the half term.
  4. Only one student’s name may be quoted when booking a trial lesson.

The following information is for Watford School parents only:

The Car Park

Our designated parking area is located at the front of the school (1st left entrance off Shepherds Road or main entrance on Rickmansworth Road). Please note that some school children may still be walking about when you drop off or pick up your child so a strict 5 miles an hour limit must be obeyed – thank you.

The Gym

Watford Boys Grammar School have extended their exclusive Gym membership to Aviv members (aged 16+) and parents. This newly built, fully equipped facility is situated above the Dance studio. If you are interested in joining and booking your induction please contact Watford Boys Grammar School on 01923 208900.

Your cooperation with these matters will help to ensure that we can focus on allowing your child to realise their full potential, explore dance and enjoy this fun and healthy after-school activity.

By joining Aviv Dance Studios, you agree to adhere to the policies above. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01923 250000 or at info@avivdance.com.
